Meet Tiffany

A close up in profile view of Tiffany, a brown skin woman, is sitting at a desk and looking down at notebook she is writing in.

I didn’t start this consulting firm intentionally, it was more like an aha! moment when I realized that this work would allow me to support the many causes so important to me and have shaped me. I know personally that access to education can profoundly impact the trajectory of your life. So after nearly two decades as an early childhood and K-12 STEM educator (with various stints in Higher Ed communications and nonprofit development), I’m thrilled to be using my skills in writing, research, and project management to support organizations whose missions center on educational access & equity. In just this past year, I’ve helped nonprofits secure more than $100K in grant funding and helped to increase organizations’ audience reach with average email open rates above 50%. I’m a member of the Grant Professionals Association. I hold a master's in Education and a bachelor's in Communication from Russell Sage College.

When I’m not writing grant proposals, newsletters, or profiles, I’m reading a cozy mystery or manga, or enjoying quiet time in the woods with my three favorite guys: my partner George and our two dogs, Danny and Pixel.

“Thanks to Tiffany, we now have an e-newsletter and far more publicity for programs than I have ever had time to create.

Communications retainer

Don’t let Giving Tuesday be the only time you email your constituents.

You know that regular communication with your constituents is important, but maybe you just can’t find the time because you are doing ALL THE THINGS. Or maybe, you don’t know what you want to communicate. Sometimes when you’re too close to the work, it’s hard to identify what needs to be shared with your broader community. But, you understand that if you’re only reaching out to supporters to ask for donations, you are not reaching out enough. And you don’t want to hear crickets when you make that next ask. I help you develop a communications strategy to help you inform, connect with, and inspire your constituents.

Perfect for:

Organizations that are ready to develop a long-term constituent communication strategy that goes beyond asking for donations.

What’s Included:

  • Monthly 1:1 planning meeting

  • Content audit

  • Brand, Audience, and Market Research

  • Communications Plan

  • Content Strategy

  • Content development such as one-pagers, stakeholder profiles, press releases, and email newsletters

Your Investment

Starting at $2,500 monthly depending on the scope

FAQs

  • Absolutely. Please share your interest in the inquiry form when you book a discovery call. We can develop a custom retainer to encompass both grants and communications support for your nonprofit.

  • My communications services focus on constituent communications and cultivation rather than fundraising. I do not work on appeals or major gifts, for example.

  • Managing the grant-seeking process is skilled work regardless of the outcome of funding. Several factors contribute to a grant being awarded and not all are within a grant writer’s control. A strong grant writer can help you develop an application whose contents can be repurposed. Most grantmakers do not fund activities that happen before the grant is awarded. The Grant Professionals Association and other professional organizations also forbid this practice.

  • An organization’s decision to work with a grant consultant boils down to your organization’s goals and capacity. If you have a staff member interested in learning how to write grants effectively and you can carve out enough time in their day-to-day to manage the process, you may not need to hire a grant consultant. Instead, you can seek professional development to help train your staff. If your team is busy with other aspects of fundraising or program delivery, or simply doesn’t have the time to learn, you may want to consider a grant consultant who is knowledgeable about the grant process, understands the funding landscape, and engages in ongoing learning.
